Inauguration of Prof. Dr. Eli Rohaeti, M.Si. and Prof. Dr. Sri Handayani, M.Si. held at the UNY Auditorium on Saturday (7/25). With the inauguration of these two newest professors, making the Bachelor of Science in Chemistry Study Programme of FMIPA UNY has 10 professors.

Prof. Dr. Eli Rohaeti, M.Si. is a professor in polymer chemistry at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UNY. Prof. Dr. Eli Rohaeti, M.Si. completed his undergraduate program in the field of Chemistry Education IKIP Bandung in 1993, received his master's degree in Physical Chemistry ITB in 1996 and received his doctorate in the field of Mathematics and Natural Sciences with the major of Physical Chemistry ITB in 2004. In his inaugural speech, Prof. Dr. Eli Rohaeti, M.Si. delivered about the development of polymer materials based on local natural resources to support the development of environmentally friendly polymer chemistry.

While Prof. Dr. Sri Handayani, M.Si. is a professor in the field of organic chemical synthesis. Prof. Dr. Sri Handayani, M.Si. completed his undergraduate program in UGM Chemistry in 1995, obtained his master's degree in UGM Chemistry in 2001, and obtained his doctorate in UGM Chemistry in 2013. He gave a speech on developing organic synthesis and testing its potential as an active compound to move towards a green economy at her inaugural ceremony.

Hopefully, with the addition of these two professors, will bring Bachelor of Science in Chemistry study programs, FMIPA, UNY become excellent and be able to compete in the global world.
