Visiting Proffesorship Lecture by Assoc. Prof. Muhammad Aqil Aryan Wong from UPSI, Malaysia

Bachelor of Science in Chemistry Study Program of FMIPA UNY presents a visiting professor lecture by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aqil Aryan Wong from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Malaysia. The visiting professor lecture was attended by 60 participants consisting of lecturers and students.

His area of ​​expertise relates to enzymes and their applications in life. In this program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aqil Aryan Wong gave a lecture on Enzyme Purification. This activity will be carried out in three months (October-December 2020) online.

Dr. Aqil provides an introduction with two questions, namely: (1) Are all proteins an enzyme? (2) are all enzymes protein? Through the initiation of these two questions, Dr. Aqil said that enzyme purification is a process sequence that aims to isolate one or several proteins from a complex mixture. There are several steps to carry out the protein purification process, namely: (1) protein screening; (2) protein release; (3) protein isolation; and (4) protein analysis.
