Basic Chemistry Laboratory

Management Organisation

Head of The Basic Chemistry Laboratory: Dra. Cornelia Budimarwanti, M.Si.

Laboratory Profile

The Basic Chemistry Laboratory is the primary learning facility for first-year undergraduate students in the Chemistry program. It is designed to build a foundation of scientific knowledge, skills, and attitudes through structured, systematic, and safety-based practical activities. As the starting point for laboratory learning, the Basic Chemistry Laboratory plays a crucial role in preparing students for further practical and research activities.

Functions

  1. Education Field
To conduct basic chemistry practicals to strengthen understanding of fundamental concepts of chemistry such as stoichiometry, basic laws of chemistry, atomic structure, periodic system, chemical reactions, solutions, acids-bases, and redox.

  2. Building Basic Laboratory Skills
To train students in the use of glassware, weighing techniques, volume measurement, solution preparation, titration, filtration, and simple heating techniques.

  3. Safety and Discipline Development
To develop a culture of Occupational Safety and Health (K3), accuracy, responsibility, and laboratory work ethics.

  4. Advanced Laboratory Preparation
To prepare students in order to take part in advanced laboratory practicals such as Organic, Inorganic, Physical, and Analytical Chemistry.
