Basic Chemistry Laboratory
Management Organisation
Head of The Basic Chemistry Laboratory: Dra. Cornelia Budimarwanti, M.Si.
Laboratory Profile
The Basic Chemistry Laboratory is the primary learning facility for first-year undergraduate students in the Chemistry program. It is designed to build a foundation of scientific knowledge, skills, and attitudes through structured, systematic, and safety-based practical activities. As the starting point for laboratory learning, the Basic Chemistry Laboratory plays a crucial role in preparing students for further practical and research activities.
Functions
-
Education Field
To conduct basic chemistry practicals to strengthen understanding of fundamental concepts of chemistry such as stoichiometry, basic laws of chemistry, atomic structure, periodic system, chemical reactions, solutions, acids-bases, and redox. -
Building Basic Laboratory Skills
To train students in the use of glassware, weighing techniques, volume measurement, solution preparation, titration, filtration, and simple heating techniques. -
Safety and Discipline Development
To develop a culture of Occupational Safety and Health (K3), accuracy, responsibility, and laboratory work ethics. -
Advanced Laboratory Preparation
To prepare students in order to take part in advanced laboratory practicals such as Organic, Inorganic, Physical, and Analytical Chemistry.
