THE 66TH ANNIVERSARY OF CHEMISTRY EDUCATION DEPARTMENT FMIPA UNY

In 2022, the Chemistry Education Department of FMIPA UNY will turn 66 years old! To celebrate the occasion, a series of events have been organised. The Chairman of the 66th Anniversary Committee, Alwan Mas'ud, reported that some of the events had been held since September. Several competition activities such as POSKIM, Art Performance, Social Action and Webinar Series was done as a celebration. The tasyakuran event is the culmination of the 66th Anniversary of the Department of Chemical Education. This 66th Anniversary celebration carries the theme ‘Unity in Gratitude, Build Grooves, and Keep Going Foward”.
The event began with a speech from the head of the chemistry education department, Dr Retno Arianingrum. There are quite a lot of achievements of the Department of Chemistry education in this 66th Anniversary, (1) Acquisition of grants for independent learning activities from the ministry and (2) ASIIN international accreditation fulfilled for 5 years. Dr Retno also expressed her gratitude to all parties who have been involved in this 66th anniversary activity this year. Hopefully, the department of chemistry education FMIPA UNY will be more successful in the future.
The second speech was delivered by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Jaslin Ikhsan, M.AppSc, Ph.D. In terms of Human Resources (HR), the Department of Chemical Education is counted as the Department with the best quality HR as proven by the highest Professor and Head Lecturer Positions. As for the recapitulation of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) that in other respects, the Department of Chemistry Education is the largest recipient of grants from various fields of research, service, and competition. Not to be outdone by the achievements of lecturers, students of the Chemistry Education Department have also participated in many competitions and become champions. So far, State University of Yogyakarta (UNY) has obtained the best achievement of the Main Performance Indicators (IKU). Therefore, FMIPA is trying to improve the quality by achieving the highest achievement of IKU. Overseas partners who collaborate with the Department of Chemistry Education makes them has the highest quantity. The reflection that ‘if there is no improvement in life then it is a loss, if there is no progress then it is a disaster’ therefore it is necessary to continue mapping the achievements of the Chemistry Education Department in the future, so that it can be actualised with certain relevant strategies. Through his speech, Prof Jaslin officially opened the 2022 tasyakuran event.
As the highlight of the event, tumpeng cutting was held which was carried out by Senior Lecturer, Prof. Dr. Indyah Sulistro Arty, M.S. and Junior Lecturer, Metridewi Primastuti, M.Pd. Through her remarks, Prof Indyah said that for 66 years the Department of Chemistry Education has provided education and created human resources who are able to compete at domestic and international levels. As for students who are still studying in the Department of Chemistry education to continue to be passionate about learning so that they can improve the competence of graduates.
