The Bachelor of Chemistry Study Program Has Achieved Excellent Acccreditation by LAMSAMA

Based on Decree (SK) from the Independent Accreditation Agency for Natural Sciences and Formal Sciences (LAMSAMA) number 097/SK/LAMSAMA/Akred/S/V/2025, the Undergraduate Chemistry Study Program under the Department of Chemistry Education, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Yogyakarta State University (YSU), has received superior accreditation. This accreditation is valid for five years, from May 15, 2025, to May 14, 2030. Obtaining this superior accreditation marks one of the highest achievements for the Undergraduate Chemistry Study Program this year. The process involved all parties and stakeholders, including the UPPS (Student Accreditation Unit), alumni, alumni users, permanent lecturers, educational staff, and students. The accreditation assessment process encompasses several aspects, including curriculum, teaching staff, facilities, supporting infrastructure, learning processes, and student achievement.

The LAMSAMA accreditation process itself involves several rigorous stages: document preparation, document acceptance, program accreditation application, adequacy assessment, and field assessment.

In addition to achieving a minimum score of 361 from nine criteria, four additional requirements must be met to achieve superior accreditation: collaboration, human resources (lecturers), facilities and infrastructure (laboratories), and research output. These four requirements must meet the superior criteria with a score above 3.5.

The Head of the Chemistry Education Department and Coordinator of the Undergraduate Chemistry Study Program, Dr. Retno Arianingrum, expressed her gratitude and pride for the Chemistry Study Program's achievement in achieving this Superior Accreditation. According to her, "This achievement reflects our continued work, consistently implementing the PPEPP framework in every established standard.

Furthermore, it is important to emphasize that the Undergraduate Chemistry Study Program has implemented a curriculum that keeps pace with current developments and industry needs." "This achievement will be an excellent stepping stone toward international accreditation. We are committed to consistently providing quality education to our students," she added.
