Monitoring and Evaluation of Intership Program for Vocational Students

On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, the Department of Chemical Education held a monitoring and evaluation activity for students from the Yogyakarta Industrial Technology High School (SMTI) in the Chemistry Laboratory. The SMTI students had been participating in a three-month internship to improve their laboratory skills. During the internship period, the students were guided and provided with guidance regarding work and the development of laboratory management skills, particularly in chemistry. This monitoring and evaluation activity was conducted to provide feedback and assess the soft and hard skills achieved by the students during the internship. Furthermore, this monitoring and evaluation activity encouraged students to continue improving the skills acquired during the internship.

The monitoring and evaluation activity was attended by the Secretary of the Department of Chemical Education, UNY, Dr. Erfan Priyambodo, M.Si.; the Head of the Analytical Chemistry Laboratory, M. Pranjoto Utomo, M.Si.; the Head of the Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry Laboratory, Prof. Dr. Sri Handayani; and laboratory technicians within the UNY Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Chemistry Laboratory. This PKL activity is a routine activity, this is because the Chemistry Laboratory-FMIPA, UNY is one of the partners for SMTI and several vocational schools in the surrounding area of D.I. Yogyakarta and even outside the Province of D.I. Yogyakarta to develop soft and hard skills related to laboratory work for high school students. The existence of this PKL activity has become proof that the Chemistry Laboratory-FMIPA, UNY is not only a center of formal education for the sons and daughters of the country to deepen their knowledge of chemistry, but also a center of education and training for vocational high school students.
