CHEMICAL INSTRUMENTATION TRAINING FOR STUDENTS

Chemistry Study Program FMIPA UNY held Chemical Instrumentation Training as one of the programs in the Independent Campus Competition Program Grant. This chemical instrumentation training activity was held in collaboration with the Department of Chemistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada. This training activity is scheduled for 3 meetings, namely on 18 September 2021, 25 September 2021, and 2 October 2021.

This chemical instrumentation training activity was attended by students of the chemistry study program class 2019 (2 classes) and class 2018 (3 classes). This training activity is held online with training materials including: (1) introduction to instrumentation theory, (2) introduction to instrumentation, (3) practice of sample analysis with chemical instrumentation, and (4) data analysis of sample test results with chemical instrumentation. The chemical instrumentation trained in this activity are: (1) Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS), (2) FTIR Spectrophotometer, (3) Gas Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). Training participants are also required to take a pretest and posttest before and after participating in the training for each chemical instrumentation.

Through this chemical instrumentation training activity, it is hoped that it can provide students with provisions regarding the use of modern chemical instruments that contribute to the preparation of students' Thesis Final Projects and support competencies later in the world of work to become a chemical research assistant.
