GENERAL LECTURE OF INDUSTRIAL CHEMISTRY WITH PT. CHANDRA ASRI

The general lecture on industrial chemistry for Chemistry Education Department students was held on Thursday, December 3, 2020. This public lecture presented from PT. Chandra Asri, Ani Oktavia Lestari, S.Si. who is domiciled as a Corporate Management Office Department Manager Chandra Asri.

Ani Oktavia Lestari, S.Si. said that there are many challenges that must be faced by the chemical industry, including regulation, customer, community, and containment costs. This challenge can be answered with operational excellence, competent people, safety and health, a management system so that it can produce maximum, safe, and environmentally friendly production.

The main role of teachers and lecturers as well as educational institutions is to produce competent people. The hope is that educational institutions can produce graduates who have good soft skills and hard skills so that they can work well. Industry expects graduates to have soft skills called I STAR value, namely Integrity, Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Respect. Meanwhile, the hard skills needed for a chemist or analyst are the skills in lab analysis, equipment reliability lab, uncertainty analysis lab, quality management lab, and safety lab.
