PERSONAL BRANDING FOR SUCCESS COLLEGE STUDENT WEBINAR

Chemistry Study Program, FMIPA, UNY held a Personal Branding Webinar on Friday, August 13, 2021 as part of the Alumni Network Strengthening activity for the Merdeka Campus Competition Program. This activity was carried out online through Zoom Meeting and was attended by a number of 218 students. The speakers who were invited to this Webinar were Wenny Tri Suryani, S.Si. who is an alumni of the 2000 FMIPA UNY Chemistry Study Program and an author of a book entitled Jago Branding.

In her presentation, Mrs. Wenny conveyed about Personal Branding for Success College Students. He said that personal branding is a communication or explanation about a person's personality, abilities, skills, behavior, achievements, and uniqueness. Personal branding can be built from an early age because personal branding gives the impression and perception of other people until it eventually becomes a stamp attached to that person. Mrs. Wenny also conveyed 3 main benefits of personal branding, namely: (1) helping someone to get recognition in their field of expertise, (2) getting recognition for their achievements, and (3) increasing self-confidence by optimizing their strengths. Furthermore, Mrs. Wenny also conveyed 3 main steps to build personal branding, namely as follows.

  1. Know yourself. Be aware of what other people perceive of you, therefore personal branding can be built. Try to build your self-image by realizing that it's really what other people want to know about you.
  2. Show yourself. In this regard, try to always maintain your attitude and speech, be active in organizations and communities, and be active in cyberspace and use it wisely.
  3. Develop yourself. Post positive and useful things to maintain a track record because reputation is very important for building personal branding.

Through this personal branding webinar, it is hoped that students can build it from now on so that when they graduate, students already have an idea of ​​what kind of image to have.
