Commemoration of the 64th anniversary of the Chemistry Education Department, FMIPA, UNY was carried out by holding several events, including a series webinar event. The series of webinars # 1 was held on October 2, 2020 with the theme of research methods in the field of chemistry education. The speakers at this # 1 webinar series are Prof. Dr. Muammer Calik (Trabzon University, Turkey) and Dr. Harry Firman (Indonesian Education University, Bandung).

Prof. Dr. Muammer Calik is a professor in the field of chemistry education with expertise on socioscientific issues, conceptual understanding, and conceptual change. This webinar series # 1 presents a systematic review in chemistry education, from how to find reference sources from various reliable databases to how to write articles about systematic reviews.

As for Dr. Harry Firman conveyed about research and development in chemistry education which is a development model in the field of education. Harry Firman delivered an outline of the DDR research design that includes models, model validation, and model use.
