FGD on Construction and Implementation of POB on Freedom to Learn - Independent Campus Curriculum
As preparation for the implementation of the Freedom to Learn - Independent Campus Curriculum (MBKM), the Undergraduate Chemistry Study Program conducted Focus Group Discussion (FGD) activities with all study program lecturers by presenting Prof. Edy Cahyono from Semarang State University and Dr. Sri Andayani from the Quality Assurance Group, FMIPA, Yogyakarta State University. The FGD activity was held on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. The purpose of this FGD activity was to enter documents and implement the Standard Operational Procedure (POB) used to implement the MBKM curriculum in the Undergraduate Chemistry Study Program, UNY. The Undergraduate Chemistry Study Program has compiled several POBs that are used to implement academic activities in the context of implementing the MBKM curriculum, including POB on Industrial Apprenticeships, Entrepreneurship Internships, Fieldwork Practices, and Credit Transfer. These activities can be carried out by students at target partners who have been initiated by the Bachelor of Chemistry study program.
According to Prof. Edy Cahyono said that the MBKM curriculum was not based on MBKM. The curriculum is still based on graduate learning outcomes that refer to KKNI and SN-DIKTI. This curriculum offers several learning programs that are beyond those covered in the curriculum. POB is needed because MBKM activities involve a lot of outsiders so that if there is no POB then there is no academic recognition of equalization. In fact, the POB is part of the quality document, has a quality procedure, and involves a quality assurance. Through the POB document, it can be used to describe the appearance of the CPL program studies that students have to achieve, the effective time duration achieved by students, and a reference for calculating the study load and converting it into SKS.
On the other hand, Dr. Sri Andayani conveyed about POB MBKM at YSU. He said that there were 4 legal bases for the independent campus policy, namely: (1) opening of new study programs; (2) higher education accreditation system; (3) tertiary institutions with legal status; and (4) the right to study three semesters outside the study program. The quality standard at YSU should accommodate the 4 bases of the independent campus policy. Dr. Andayani also emphasized to clarify the rights and obligations of the parties involved in the MoU or MoA on the implementation of student exchanges. The courses that will be achieved by students outside the study program and the internship activities that will be carried out should also be in accordance with the student's field. If the activities achieved by students are not in accordance with their fields, these activities can be written in the Certificate of Diploma Supplement.
