Implementation of the MBKM curriculum requires study programs to be active in improving the quality of graduates so that they are ready to be accepted in the industrial world and have the ability to create jobs. In an effort to improve the quality of graduates, the study program needs to improve the quality of education. In accordance with university policy, the implementation of the MBKM curriculum in the Chemistry study program, FMIPA UNY, is endeavored to support UNY's mission to become one of the recognized educational universities in the world. With this goal in mind, the Chemistry Study Program of FMIPA UNY is determined to take part in the Independent Campus-Competition Program (PK-KM) organized by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture. The results of the selection have been announced nationally on June 6, 2021 and the Chemical S1 Study Program FMIPA UNY has passed after going through a national selection stage which includes: 1. Administrative evaluation stage; 2. evaluation of the quality and feasibility of the proposal; and 3. feasibility verification stage (online visit). The S1 Chemistry Study Program, FMIPA UNY passed the PKKM grant together with the Sports Coaching Education Study Program and the English Language Education Study Program from a total of 5 study programs submitted by Yogyakarta State University.

The activities that will be held by the Chemistry study program through this PK-KM grant include the following.

1. Improving the quality of chemistry study program graduates.
2. Improving the quality of education.
3. Human resource development (lecturers and education staff).
4. Study program development.

Through these activities, it is hoped that it can improve the process and output of graduates of the Chemistry Study Program, FMIPA UNY.
