MIPA EXPO 2023 held for 3 days from Monday to Wednesday (29-31/5/23) in the courtyard of the dean's building of FMIPA UNY was lively. The event was started by the Vice Rector for Planning and Finance of UNY, Prof. Dr. Lantip Diat Prasojo, S.T., M.Pd. The opening was marked by the release of balloons into the air which was followed by other attendees.

University leaders, Deans / heads of institutions, and other officials were present in this occasion. In his opening speech, Prof. Lantip expressed that MIPA EXPO activity is a place to display the work of student creativity.  In addition, it is also a place to train the entrepreneurial spirit and entrepreneurship.UNY is now PTN-BH, there needs to be a change in mindset, namely how we can increase income generation. We must be frugal to fulfil our needs in order to become an international class university. FMIPA has extraordinary potentials such as batik, herbal medicine, etc. to increase income generation.

On the other hand, the Dean of FMIPA, Prof. Dr. Ariswan, M.Si., explained that this activity is a series of activities for the 59th Anniversary of UNY. With this MIPA EXPO activity, the series of UNY anniversary activities are complete. ‘MIPA EXPO comes with 32 booths that include faculty student organisations, departments, with a supporting booth from the Indonesian Orchid Association, as well as culinary booths. MIPA EXPO was also celebrated with competitions attended by high school students, namely acoustic competitions, singing competitions, dancing competitions, and batik eco print competitions,’ he continued.  In complement to the competition for high school students, MIPA EXPO was also filled with various performances from FMIPA students with various performances in the field of art such as dance, band, singing, etc. The announcement of the competition and the receipt of the championship trophy was held on the last day of the activity.
