On Friday, 19 April 2024 the Chemistry Study Program had a Visiting Professor, Balasubramani Ravindran, Ph.D from the Department of Environmental Energy and Engineering, Kyonggi University, Suwon-Si, South Korea. His research mainly focuses on the treatment of solid waste and wastewater generated from households and industries through aerobic and anaerobic fermentation, composting/vermicomposting, activated carbon, biochar/black carbon amendments, nanotechnology applications, phytotoxic/plant growth studies, etc. During the visit, he gave a lecture on Fermentation to students taking courses in Molecular Biotechnology and Environmental Chemistry. The next lecture material will be given online. After the teaching session, it was followed by the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) and IA between FMIPA and the Department of Environmental Energy and Engineering, Kyonggi University, Suwon-Si, South Korea. On this occasion, there was also a discussion between the management of the Department & the Group of Expertise (KBK) with Dr. Ravindra about opportunities for cooperation in the field of research, joint publications, scholarships, etc.
