Saturday, 4 May 2024-Department of Chemistry Education, FMIPA-UNY held a gathering and shawwal event to celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1445 H and strengthening of ties. This event is an annual routine of the Department of Chemistry Education. The academic community within the Department of Chemistry Education, which includes active lecturers, retired senior lecturers, education staff, and student employment is happy to have attended this event. The event that took place at Kopi Njongke was celebrated with the singing performance from the attendees, along with the serving of special delights on the side, making the atmosphere more intimate, exciting, and memorable.

The gathering and shawwal of the big family of the Department of Chemistry Education began with a speech by the Head of the Department, Dr. Dra. Retno Arianingrum, M.Si. then followed by the introduction of two new lecturers, Yoga Priastomo, S.Si., M.Eng. and Yunilia Nur Pratiwi, S.Pd., M.Pd. The event continues with the pledge reading by Prof. Dr Antuni Wiyarsi, M.Si. as a lecturer representative. The event became more meaningful with a spiritual lecture by Prof. Drs. Jaslin Ikhsan, M.App.Sc., Ph.D. He mentioned that ‘educating people to be intellectual and moral is never an easy job and requires great patience’. The event went on and got more exciting with the door prize giveaway. Active lecturers, retired lecturers, education staff, and also students took part in competing for door prizes by answering questions from the MC. 

The event was then concluded with a closing song from Prof. Jaslin Ikhsan. After having this event, hopefully, the relationship within the Big Family of the Department of Chemical Education can continue to grow.
